February Half Term Fun at The Bishop’s Palace

This February, The Bishop’s Palace will kick off its annual children’s activities programme with a fun-filled Half Term.

The new “Make-it Monday!” sessions will be run every Monday during school holidays in the Undercroft, beginning on Monday 12th February with a theme of “Heads & Tails”. Children can take the opportunity to make wacky beasts and dastardly dragons, in a variety of craft forms, any time from 10:30am-3pm!

This year, our popular ‘Nature Ninjas’ sessions, which take place in the Gardens, will be held on Fridays, giving children the chance to get up close with a range of nature experiences such as pond dipping, minibeast hunting and seed sowing. Come along on Friday 16th February between 11am-3pm to try it out.

Throughout the February Half Term, there will be a brand new family trail based on the “Heads & Tails” theme, which will finish in the fun-filled Dragon’s Lair, where little ones can let off steam on our play equipment.

On 13th February it’s Shrove Tuesday and the annual Palace Pancake Race will be taking place by the Croquet Lawn at 11am. Come and see the teams from the Palace, Cathedral, Bishop’s Office and Diocese competing and take the chance to have a go at some pancake-tossing yourself. The Bishop’s Table Café will also be serving pancakes all day, so pop in and partake to get into the spirit of the event.

Family activities are included in standard admission and under 5’s are always FREE. A time slot for the Make-it Monday sessions must be collected upon arrival at the Palace.
