Bubble Bursts Into Bristol

  • App-only babysitting service taking London by storm launches in Bristol
  • Entrepreneur dads Ari Last and Adrian Murdock looking to provide parents with flexible childcare solutions
  • App uses social and community data to connect parents to local babysitters that their friends use

bubble, the babysitting service for finding a recommended sitter in your area, is launching across Bristol this January.

The babysitting service has boomed in the capital with more than 30,000 parents and sitters currently using the app, scoring 9.4/10 on Trustpilot. Now, the company is venturing out of London, bringing its service to parents in and around the Bristol area.

bubble prides itself on its approach to trust. The app uses social and community data to connect parents to the local babysitters that their friends know, use and love. On top of this, the app lets parents read the reviews left by other mums and dads on the babysitter before booking them. Every sitter on bubble is also cleared through an online identity and background check before their profile goes live.

The app also makes light work of payment, so there’s no need to have cash to pay the sitter at the end of the session – which is tracked to the minute on the app.

Ari Last commented: “As parents we know that when it comes to finding a brilliant babysitter for our kids, nothing is as powerful as a personal connection or recommendation. Our aim with bubble is to make finding trusted childcare – anytime, anywhere – an easy and fun experience.”

“What’s really excited us is that it’s not just helping parents with their social lives, but with their work lives too. bubble is providing parents – working mothers especially – with the flexible childcare solution they need in order to get back to, and get on with work. We saw strong demand for the service in Bristol so we’re really excited about rolling out in the area.

bubble has already seen over 100 sitters sign up with different backgrounds ranging from teachers, nannies and university students. Jazmine, 24, who is a qualified nanny from Ashton in Bristol said:

“I chose to sign up to bubble as I wanted to meet more local families in my area. It’s really convenient for me as a sitter and for families looking for regular childcare or just as one-off help.”

Charlotte, 22, a student at UWE has also signed up as a sitter on bubble, she said:

“bubble has allowed me to earn some extra money whilst being at university without the pressures of a permanent job. I know for some parents that bubble will be a real life changer.”

Bubble also caught the attention of major businesses last year with founders from Photobox, Betfair and boohoo.com among high-profile investors.
