Youth consultants to help young people’s voices be heard

Eight youth consultants who will provide a valuable link to young people and ensure their voices are heard are being recruited on behalf of Wiltshire Council by Community First.

The consultants will ideally be between 16 and 24 years of age and be able to identify and engage with young people.

Laura Mayes, cabinet member for children’s services said: “Being a young person in the 21st century as its own unique set of pressures and challenges.

“With everything modern life throws at young people, it is important they feel listened to and valued. We all need to play our part to ensure they are heard, and these new appointments will provide that vital link to make sure we are tuned into the needs of our young people.”

The posts will normally be around 10 hours per month on a flexible working basis with occasional evenings and weekends. Young people with experience of children’s services are particularly encouraged to apply.
