Why not try out some eco-friendly wrapping paper

Why not try out some eco-friendly wrapping paper

It was estimated that we threw out 108 million rolls of wrapping paper last year. That is a lot of rubbish, but even the most well intentioned of us, who chuck the wrapping into the recycling might not realise that not all of it is recyclable, especially if it has foil or glitter or leftover tape on it.
It does feel a bit sacrilegious to hand people a gift that isn’t wrapped, so we put our heads together to come up with some more environmentally friendly options for wrapping.

You could of course check the labels when buying wrapping paper to check that it is recyclable, or there are some suggestions below!

Use fabric gift bags
You can get fabric gift bags that look a bit more festive, but any of the small reusable shopping bags will do. Many of them are made from recyclable fabric and you can use them again and again.

Use brown paper
This is a great option, you can get recycled brown paper that you can even decorate yourself with stamps or ribbons to personalise the wrapping to the person.

Use magazines or newspaper
Chances are you have old newspapers lying around… Just maybe check what articles are on show when doing your wrapping!
