Hunt for the Were Rabbit

As part of 'Get inspired at Montacute House' head out into the garden to help Gromit find his old friend before it's too late. Montacute House was re-imagined by Aardman as Tottington Hall in the Wallace & Gromit film, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.  Now it seems as though the Were-Rabbit may make an appearance at Montacute - unless Gromit can save the day. You can pick up a trail in reception and then follow Gromit around the garden searching…

Tottington Hall comes to Montacute House

Aardman took inspiration from Montacute House and re-imagined it as Tottington Hall, which features in the award-winning Wallace & Gromit film, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Members of Aardman's artisitc design team visited Montacute House whilst they were in pre-production for the film. During these visits many pictures and measurements were taken of the house interior, as well as panoramic views of the parkland.  These became the basis of the film's setting, Tottington Hall. Paint a hand-cut springtime wooden decoration

A fun art activity for all the family with a selection of springtime-themed wooden decorations for you to choose from. Choose from a variety of wooden shapes and decorate it as you please! Decorations are all hand-cut in the master woodcarver's studio from solid lime and tulip wood. Call in at reception for a map and directions to the woodcarver's workshop. The activity runs on a drop-in basis throughout the day.

Donkey Day

Join us for Donkey Day and meet our friendly visiting donkeys. The donkeys are visiting from Mike’s Donkeys and will be here for the whole day. You can get to know the donkeys and give them a pet! There’ll also be time to get creative and make your own donkey crafts and who will be able to spot all of the cuddly donkeys hidden around the Museum in our Donkey Trail?
