The Kid Who Would Be King with Children’s World at Glastonbury Abbey

To finish off their summer of activities, Children’s World, in partnership with Glastonbury Abbey, will be screening The Kid Who Would Be King on Friday the 23rd August as the opening night of the abbey’s outdoor film festival. The film, about a young boy who stumbles upon the mythical sword Excalibur, features several scenes shot in Glastonbury, including the abbey.
To get the audience in the mood, there will be pre-show entertainment with a sword fighting display including a chance to try the weapons and armour, magic and a birds of prey display.
Charity director, Paddy Hill said “It’s been an incredibly busy summer for us and we can’t think of a better finale to our activities! It’s a great film, with action, comedy and fantasy featuring some familiar local backdrops – a perfect family spectacle!”

Doors open at 7pm for pre show entertainment with the film starting at approximately 8.30. Discount advance tickets are available from the Glastonbury Abbey website and shop or on the night at the abbey.
