Survey suggests social media and reality TV is affecting children’s body image

More than half of young people feel that reality TV and social media have had a negative effect on how they see their bodies, a recent survey has found.
The survey also suggested that young people were more likely to consider having cosmetic surgery. Some 35% of people said that shows such as Love Island and the Only Way is Essex helped encourage these feelings.

The survey was reported on by BBC Radio 5 Live where presenters spoke to a number of young people about their thoughts on surgery.
