After Litter Picks in Keynsham were cancelled due to the snow, there have been some rescheduled dates.
Keep Britain Tidy’s Nationwide Litter Pick is hoped to take place on Sunday, 25 March, 2-4pm.
Please hold the date in your diary, the group are in the process of contacting the original group leaders to see if they are still available and will send an update email soon. If you weren’t available for the last date, but can do this one and there is an area you would particularly like to litter pick, just let me know.
If you need to borrow litter picking equipment please let me know in advance so I can make sure your group leader has enough to lend you on the day.
The Riverside Walk/Litter Pick will now be 10am Friday 16 March
Meeting in the gravel car park by the Lock Keeper. As well as picking up litter, this is an opportunity to meet a group of artists who will be visiting Keynsham. Their aim is to find ways they can work with community groups in Keynsham as they are planning a year long project here in the future. I have loads of ideas where we could create art projects around litter, but I’m sure you will have great ideas too, so please come along if you can.

Take a stand against plastic packaging!
This isn’t a Keynsham Wombles event, but has been organised by various Keynsham people (including a few Wombles). The purpose is to highlight the environmental damage and disposal costs of plastic packaging. They are meeting at Tesco in Keynsham at 4pm on 24 March and plan to do a short shop, pay for their purchases and take off the packaging, leaving it in the store. Tesco’s have been informed that this will be happening. Anyone is welcome to join in if they wish.
