NCT North East Somerset branch volunteers are busy planning their next NCT Nearly New Sale, offering excellent quality used baby and children’s items. Baby products on the high street can be pricey, but shoppers at the NCT sale can save up to 75% on the price of most goods.
The Spring Sale is a Nearly New Sale, this operates like a pop-up shop. Sellers label their items in advance of the sale, dropping their items off in the morning for volunteers to sort out into categories, making it easier for Buyers to find what they are after. The NCT have around 2,500 items entered into the sales from 40 Sellers. Buyers can choose their items, pop them in their bag and pay at the till at the end, allowing them the chance to browse easily and pay in one transaction via cash or card. At the end of the sale, NCT pay the Sellers their commission, the rest of the money then goes to the NCT Charity towards local and national activities and campaigns.
NCT North East Somerset’s Nearly New Sale is to be held on Sunday, 20th May 11am-12.30pm [Early Entry for NCT Members] at Conygre Hall, Timsbury.
Kelly Brookbank, Nearly New Sale Coordinator for NCT North East Somerset Branch, said: “It’s amazing to think that so many people throw their baby and children items in the bin, when they could be selling their good condition items at an NCT Nearly New Sale! At our last NCT Nearly New Sale, we had over 2,500 items entered for sale with 51% of items sold! That’s a cracking 1,362 items that have been saved from landfill. With 251 toys and games, 50 dressing-up outfits and 79 Books finding new homes. We are a small branch and these numbers make me very proud to be a volunteer with the NCT and it’s why I continue to co-ordinate the Nearly New Sales, though my children are no longer babies.”
