Medieval Falconry Day at The Bishop’s Palace

14th September 2019 10am-4pm

The Bishop’s Palace in Wells is holding a Medieval Falconry Day on Saturday 14th September.

The experts at falconry company Raptor Care have trained their birds with skills that have been used since Medieval times.  Display leader Tony will be bringing a selection of his finest falcons and owls to show off their marvellous moves in front of visitors on the South Lawn.

Suitable for all ages, the flying displays will take place twice a day and will show visitors how these magnificent birds would have been used in Medieval times, and by whom.

In between the flying displays, visitors will have the chance to get up close with some of the birds and handle these wonderful creatures, whilst finding out all about them from their handlers.

Displays will take place at approximately 12pm and 3pm (weather permitting).

This event is included in admission to the Palace & Gardens. This is a fundraising event in aid of The Bishop’s Palace. Ticket prices: £9 adults, £4 children, £7 Group booking.  Palace Members free.
