Local university students put the fun into fundraising

A group of business students from the University of Bath are holding a large variety performance called Flair to raise essential funds for leading children’s charity Save the Children. The event will showcase some sensational music, dance, comedy and magic, with appearances by both some highly talented university students and some special guests from the local area, including the singer/guitarist John Ross, a frequent performer at Glastonbury. Flair, which has been penned as Bath’s Biggest Variety Show, will be taking place on Sunday 3rd November at 6pm in the Edge Theatre, a state-of-the-art venue based on the university’s campus.

All profits raised by the students will go towards Save the Children’s work in over 120 countries, where they are making sure the world’s forgotten children have a brighter future.

James Hogan, one of the students involved with the project, said: “I’m really delighted to be raising funds for such a worthwhile cause. Across the world, Save the Children are delivering life-saving aid; providing clean water, running vaccination programmes and helping to keep children safe and give them an education. I know the money I raise today really can make a difference.  While a little daunted by the task ahead of selling so many tickets in such a short space of time, I really hope to raise lots of money and hope the local community will come together to support me!”

Gabrielle Taylor, a spokesperson from Save the Children says “This money will make such a difference to the world’s most vulnerable children. Simple and inexpensive solutions help to save lives and it is local fundraising events like this that make Save the Children’s essential work possible.”

All money raised could help give a child living in a refugee camp clothes to keep them warm through winter, help us buy nutritious food for their entire family, or set up a safe space to give children the chance to be children again. It could also help us bring essentials like healthcare, education, protection and food to the millions of children around the world who are missing out on the most basic support.
