Have you #AdEnough?

Have you #AdEnough?

You’ve probably seen celebrities and influencers across the internet posing with their hands over their eyes in Instagram or Twitter posts as they joined in with Jamie Oliver’s new campaign to keep junk food ads away from children. So, we’re wondering what you think about the campaign.

The campaign is calling for the government to introduce a 9 pm watershed on junk food advertising on TV, and to restrict what ads kids see online, in the street and on public transport. Speaking about the campaign, Jamie Oliver, said: “Guys, we urgently need the government to act and it’s really simple for you to help.” He asked people to show their support by posting an image of themselves hiding their eyes on social media, to show that the only ad-blocker we’ve currently got is covering our eyes. Jamie Oliver has long campaigned against junk food advertising and products with high sugar content in a bid to tackle child obesity in the UK.

What do you think? Do you think children should be shielded from adverts or is there more to kids wanting to eat treats than just seeing them on TV? We’d love to know your thoughts, get in touch with us on Facebook and Twitter.
