Emergency Covid 19 family support from Purple Elephant

Emergency Covid 19 family support from Purple Elephant

Over the next few weeks, Purple Elephant (the organisers of Frome Toy Library, Frome Children’s Festival/Gen-Z, the Sports Festival and Family Holiday Fun) will be doing whatever they can to support those local families who are most in need.

A spokesperson for Purple Elephant said: “We’ll be working together with Fair Frome and local schools to get resources to families such as activity packs, toys and books. We understand that keeping children occupied will be a challenge so, naturally, these play resources will be given for free and most will be to keep – some will be on loan. Many families are going to be facing a long period of time in isolation or unexpectedly at home, and will struggle to find positive things to do – our aim will be to give them creative, healthy, fun activities to help keep vulnerable families occupied and avoid spiralling into crisis. We will, of course, follow government guidance on cleaning and social distancing to ensure that our resources are safe to use.

“We have very limited funding from previous donations to enable this support so we will need more if we’re to continue this work for more than a few weeks. If you are in a position to donate a little to help our emergency support we’d be very grateful.  Tensions will be running high in some families so please help us reach out to keep the world of play open for our most vulnerable children.

You can give via our website or Local Giving.”
