Creepy Creatures, Huge Pumpkin Patch, Monsters and more are ready to take-over Avon Valley this Half Term

Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park are preparing for the ultimate Halloween Half Term week with their Spooky Fun event. Starting Saturday 26th October and running until Sunday 4th November, Avon Valley are putting on a full day’s schedule packed with Halloween-themed activities from Merlin’s Flying Academy to Were-Rabbit Handling with every inch of the Adventure and Wildlife Park joining in with the Halloween-themed fun.

One of the highlights for the Animals team is Brain painting. Martha Morgan, Head Keeper, explains; “My favourite activity during Spooky Fun has to be Brain painting. We have live maggots living in plastic skulls, we dip them in paint and see what masterpieces they create. It’s great fun and the children love getting involved.”

Meanwhile, in another area there will be a huge Pumpkin Patch, with over 4,000 pumpkins to choose from and carve. Avon Valley are giving guests the opportunity to pick, carve and take home their chosen pumpkin, plus a chance to enter a daily competition to win return tickets. “We are excited to offer our biggest pumpkin patch to date. Watching children choose their pumpkin then create their unique designs is great – and the best bit is that it’s all included in our Adventurer’s Pass tickets” says Kim Pounsberry, Communications Manager.

Even the Strawberry Line Miniature Railway is getting involved “Broom Hilda, our resident witch has taken over the tannoy announcements and the whole line has creepy secrets around every corner – we’ve even got a group of skeletons having a campfire near the track” describes Track Supervisor, Chris Jones “Halloween certainly gives us a chance to be creative across the whole Park”.

Anyone taking out an Adventurer’s Pass this Half Term will gain the Spook-tacular added bonuses of the pumpkin carving, our brand-new Trick or Treat Street, a trip around Professor Fun’s Funworks Factory, all of the Creepy Creatures activities, access to the whole Park as well as the Avon Valley’s Tractor ride, Miniature Train ride, Quad bike ride and Chair-o-planes ride – all “Spooky-fied” in time for Halloween.

Alongside this, there will be the chance for guests to enrol their children into Witch and Wizard School. Every child wants the chance to be the newest Harry Potter and this is their chance. Led by Professors Dominus, Exponentia, Potio, Volantes and Caput this 45 minute immersive experience takes children through classes such as wand training, potions, flying lessons and lots more, plus the opportunity to graduate as a 2018 Witch or Wizard. Witch and Wizard School tickets are available online on the Avon Valley website or on entry on the day. Avon Valley Park is encouraging guests to pre-book for more class options and guaranteed entry to the School.

And not forgetting Avon Valley will be presenting adult event FEAR Avon Valley Scream Park evenings of Friday 25th to Wednesday 31st October (inclusive). After a successful launch weekend (19th-21st October) Frank, Mumma and the clowns return this weekend for another stint of FEAR-ful festive vibes this Halloween period. This year, for FEAR Avon Valley Scream Park’s fifth year, the event is offering four immersive scare mazes; Anarchy: Live, X4 #Whatisthefourth, Phobia: Rebirth and new for 2018, House of Clowns as well as Killzone Zombie, Paintballing, 2-minute escape room, bar, food, fairground thrill-rides and an incredible Street Theatre with hourly Fire Shows. Doug Douglas, owner and Managing Director says of the event “This year, for our fifth year we have made FEAR bigger and better than before, we have a lot on offer and new treats for those who have been before.” Tickets for this event are available from www.fearavonvalley.com
