Kids constantly badgering you for a Maccas’ or something similar? Well, get rid of their fast-food cravings without giving in to those naughty treats with this pasta bake recipe.
Ingredients
2 large onions, roughly chopped
400g pasta
500g lean beef mince
6 large tomatoes, sliced
80g cheese, grated
Method
Start by either drizzling some oil or spraying cooking spray into a medium-sized saucepan on medium heat. Once hot, add the onions and cook for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to the to the instructions, drain and return to the pan.
Once the onions are cooked, increase the heat and add the beef, frying until browned. Drain off any liquid and season lightly.
Preheat the grill to high.
Stir the beef and onions into the pasta and spoon half into a shallow baking dish. Cover with half the tomatoes and season to your taste. Grill for 5 minutes.
Sprinkle over half the cheese and top with the remaining pasta, beef and tomatoes, then return to the grill for another five minutes. Sprinkle over the remaining cheese and grill for another two minutes until golden. Serve immediately.
