Bath and North East Somerset Council congratulate students for their A Level results

Early indications of results across the area show a positive increase in the average grade achieved by pupils and this is a real credit to the hard work that they and their teachers have put in. Initial analysis of the provisional and unpublished results of schools in the B&NES Council area suggests that the average grade achieved has moved from a C in 2017 to halfway between a C and a B grade in 2018.
The number of pupils achieving at least two A grades and. B grade has increased from 14.6% to 17.2%, a credit to pupils and teachers all over the region.

B&NES Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, Paul May, said: “We are seeing some strong improvements from local schools, both in the average grade achieved and in the proportion of pupils achieving the highest grades.

“We are aware of how much work teachers have put in to helping their students adjust to the new, more challenging qualifications and we would like to thank them for their hard work to promote the success of our young people.”
