The SummerZest Children’s Festival takes place on Wednesday 14th August 2019 at the Taunton Racecourse and children’s author, Stewart Foster has been announced to kick start the Children’s Literary element of this year’s festival. The festival will feature arrange of activities; along with variety of trade stands, local crafts and range of exciting storytelling throughout the day.
Stewart Foster, author of the children’s novels, The Bubble Boy and All the Things that could go Wrong will be leading the story telling experience. As a Amazon Rising Star in 2015 and a Guardian Author to Watch in the same year. The Bubble Boy won Sainsbury Book of the Year in 2016, was Carnegie Medal Listed and along with All the things that could go Wrong, has won numerous national schools and libraries awards. Stewart’s novel for adults, we used to be Kings was also highly critically acclaimed. Stewart loves writing about the real issues that children face, to help them learn but of course to entertain. If children catch the bug to read early, maybe it will set them up for life.
