Quest for Fun and Facts: Children’s University event at the Roman Baths

Quest for Fun and Facts: Children’s University event at the Roman Baths – An evening of fun, games and activities will take place at the Roman Baths on Thursday, October 26 to introduce the Children’s University in Bath.

The Children’s University encourages out-of-school learning, promoting life experiences, motivation, ambition and a love of learning in children aged five to 14.

It was launched in Bath in May this year by a group of schools working with Bath Spa University and other local organisations.

On the night, local museums will provide fun activities for children as they strengthen their curiosity about learning, and parents will be able to find out how to get involved regularly in the

Children’s University. The event is free for Bath and North East Somerset residents with a Discovery Card.

Councillor Paul Myers (Conservative Midsomer Norton Redfield), Cabinet Member for Economic and Community Regeneration, said: “Encouraging our children and young people on to a lifelong path of learning is so important, not only in terms of their self-development but also in terms of investing in the future success of BANES.

“We’re delighted to be hosting this event at the Roman Baths and hope that local children and their parents will enjoy finding out more about this inspiring initiative.”

Booking is not required. Entry will be through the main doors of the Roman Baths. Doors will open at 6pm with last admittance at 7.30pm.

The event is part of Museums Week (www.bathmuseumsweek.co.uk) and Museums at Night (http://museumsatnight.org.uk).
