The Independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England has published its recommendations for new ward boundaries across Bath and North East Somerset. These recommendations will now be debated in parliament.
The report, which was published on Tuesday, follows public consultations and has drawn new boundaries for each council ward across the Bath and North East Somerset area.
The final recommendations propose that Bath and North East Somerset should be represented by 59 councillors in the future, six less than now. They also propose that those councillors should represent 26 two councillor wards and 7 one councillor wards.
These proposals mean that 28 of the current wards will change, nine will stay the same.
The commission made some minor amends to the proposals put forward in May, these include several changes within the city of Bath, as well as a few on the outside of the city after feedback from local people.
For instance, Camerton Parish argued that it should be part of Bathavon South ward rather than Radstock ward, which the commission agreed with, they are also adding Marksbury parish to Bathavon South so that it is included with other rural areas.

The proposed arrangements must now be implemented by parliament and should they be approved will come into force at council elections in 2019.
