Easter gift for Weston & Worle children

Nearly 4,000 free annual passes for the Grand Pier, Weston-super-Mare have been given out as a special Easter gift, thanks to a close relationship between the attraction and the Priory Learning Trust.

Students and staff at Priory Community School (PCSA), Worle Community School (WCSA), St Anne’s Primary School and Castle Batch Primary School will enjoy a range of benefits as part of the membership package, including unlimited entry to the Grand Pier for a year from 31st March.

In addition, 600 Year 6 primary school children who will be given places at PCSA and WCSA this year, will also receive the gift when they are offered their places this March.

As well as free entry, the membership pass provides discounts on rides, events, and food and drinks on the Grand Pier.

This Easter gift is the latest development in a relationship between the Grand Pier and the Priory Learning Trust that has flourished over the last six years, and is part of the Pier’s ongoing activity to support community groups in the town.

Neville Coles, Executive Principal of The Priory Learning Trust, said: “We are delighted to offer our students and our staff an annual pass for the Grand Pier.  As an Academy Trust we want to provide not only exceptional education but also other benefits.”

Michelle Michael, co-owner of the Grand Pier, said: “The commitment shown by everyone working at the Priory Learning Trust is something we should all be proud of, and importantly is ensuring so many children are gaining a high-quality education that will benefit them for life. Of course such hard work deserves to be rewarded, and this year we are delighted to offer this special gift to our friends at the Priory. We have collaborated and shared ideas with the Trust since we re-opened and we hope that this gesture will help the schools and the students feel like part of a community together as they all join the PLT – most recently St Anne’s and Castle Batch.

“This is part of our commitment to giving back to the children in the community and we hope the students and staff thoroughly enjoy their time making use of the attractions on the Pier.”

The Grand Pier, Weston-super-Mare is one of the South West’s most popular tourist destinations, boasting indoor theme park rides, a Go-Kart circuit, F1 simulators, soft play and slot machines. For more information visit https://www.grandpier.co.uk/
