Christmas Lights Switch On

Christmas Lights Switch On

On the 2nd December, Puxton Park is holding their first ever Grand Christmas Lights Switch On event.

The star of the show will be the 40ft Christmas tree adorned with thousands of lights and traditional decorations. This tree is going to be one of the largest in the South West and its giant star topper will shine across Somerset.

To make the event even more magical, the entire cast of the Weston Playhouse’s Aladdin Pantomime will be in attendance, including TV celebrity John Altman, who played EastEnders “Nasty Nick.”

On this day, there will also be an official ribbon cutting ceremony for the parks newest attraction, the Cosy Cottage, which will house Father Christmas and Mrs. Claus this holiday season.

Puxton Park is inviting families to join this festive event at 3pm, with the light switch on at 4pmand closing at 5:30pm.

The event will celebrate the holiday season with performances by local choirs singing traditional carols, hot cocoa, Christmas stories read by Father Christmas and Mrs. Claus and the hilarious and amusing cast of the Aladdin Pantomime.

Alistair Mead, Managing Director of Puxton Park, said: “With the addition of our new, Cosy Cottage, we hope to transform Puxton Park into a magical place for families to celebrate this festive season.”

“We are welcoming children and their families from Switchboard Opportunity Group to join us for this celebratory afternoon free of charge.”

Springboard’s aim is to give young children with additional needs the best possible opportunity to live fulfilling and independent lives.
